There are many training courses and manuals out there for Adobe® Illustrator®. However the majority of these are generic and not specific to fashion. As Illustrator® is widely used across many different industries, most of the available training courses and manuals will simply focus on the features and functionality, many of which are not relevant to the fashion industry.
It is also not always apparent how certain tools or features can be best adapted and used for drawing fashion in generic training courses and manuals. For example you may be shown how to draw a banana, but what you actually need to know is how best to create a twin needle topstitch or a button hole. With Illustrator 4 Fashion training users are only taught the features that are relevant to fashion drawing, and how to best use the tools to achieve professional, efficient and accurate fashion flats.
At Illustrator 4 Fashion we understand that creatives are not always techies. Our training is designed in a way that is not only clear and easy to follow, but having fashion backgrounds ourselves, we know how to speak the language and what is important. You don’t need to spend time explaining to us how fashion “works.”
Even users that may be already able to use Illustrator® may not be aware of the tips and tricks to optimise Illustrator® for the apparel industry. We show users how to produce professional and detailed fashion flats that help to reduce physical samples and get products to market faster through improved speed, efficiency and accuracy. Because we come to you, our pricing is much more cost effective than hosted courses that have large overheads for their training facilities.
Our pricing model also differs in that we do not charge per person on the course; we just have a flat rate where you can have as many users attend as you need. However, from experience we would recommend that class sizes do not exceed eight people as training larger groups is less effective and less individual instruction from the tutor can be given.
